ATTENTION SEEKING.
In the world of social networking, everything we do is on a personal level. We create usernames, pick pictures of us smiling at the camera, write bios that not only represent us but show why we are different from the rest, no? We are given the ability to press LIKE on a picture we like or a status that has a significant relation to our lives. All of that which can be deemed as attention seeking. Now, when choosing a picture, is someone going to pick a picture they took of themselves at 4 AM with something on their teeth, or are they going to pick the picture when they looked their best with a smile that spread through the computer screen? What intentions they had when posting that picture is completely up to them. Also, look at any entertainer in the world. They are stepping out of the “norm” that society has created for us and put themselves in the public eye for everyone to see, talk about, judge and follow. Any ‘actor’ in hollywood is a slave to the people. Pictures, interviews, tabloids, so on and so forth. Do they choose that? No, it’s what comes with the territory. Now. I have been given an opportunity to post a status for 30,000 world wide to see. Will I spend that beautiful opportunity telling people what food I ate? Will I tell them about how much my life sucks or what so and so from school said to so and so about someone else? No. I will use it as a chance to inspire, spread positivity and evoke the best emotions out of people. No number of supporters reflecting who I am as a person fore I have not changed since I began this journey. The only thing that has changed is peoples perception of me. When you say a word 20 times fast, the word begins to sound different to you correct? Because we are constantly focusing and putting attention to it. We forget it’s meaning for 10 seconds until it goes back to being the word it first started out being. The word never changed. But our perception and understanding of the word did. So, yeah. If that made any sense. :]
